Witness a symphonic portrait of a new generation in the world premiere of “Seventeen,” music composed by Ron Ramin, libretto by Portia Kamons , with narration directed by Jamie Bernstein. Inspired by the civic engagement of young Americans and narrated in their own words, this four-movement piece conveys the recent experiences of young Americans as they confront an unprecedented range of challenges, from gun violence to climate change. Featuring a libretto of verbatim text from interviews with young activists, “Seventeen” speaks powerfully to their generation’s spirit and determination.
