Music Director Eric Jacobsen closes the Classics Series with a captivating journey between juxtaposed pieces by Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky. Grace Park takes the stage to perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with its delicate Adagio and feisty Finale. Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony is an orchestral tour de force, showcasing the full power of the orchestra. From the soaring melodies, thundering brass, and exploration of themes of fate and struggle, this is an unforgettable concert spotlighting the heroes on our hometown stage and the masters of classical music.
